Lovely crocheted collar

I used a 6.5 mm hook (K) and 150 m Red Heart Detroit yarn (says 3 on label at weight). I think organic cotton is the same. Didn’t try yet.

US terms

Abbreviations:

ch = chain,

st(s) = stitch(es)

dc = double crochet

V stitch = double crochet, ch 2, dc in same st

tr = treble

Chain 60, not too tight.

Row 1: ch 3 (counts as dc, here and in each row from here), dc in the forth ch from the hook and in each next 59 sts (60 dc).

Row 2:  ch 3, dc in next st, *2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in third st*, repeat until you reach last 2 sts, dc in each next 2 sts.

Row 3:  ch 3, dc in next st, ch 1, *2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in the next ch 1 space, ch 1*, repeat *_* in each ch 1 space, dc in each last 2 sts.

Row 4: ch 3, dc in next st, ch 1, *2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in the next ch 1 space, ch 1*, repeat *_* in each ch 1 space, dc in each last 2 sts.

Row 5: repeat row 4.

Row 6: ch 3, dc in next st, ch 2, *2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in the next ch 1 space, ch 2*, repeat *_* in each ch 1 space, dc in each last 2 sts.

Row 7: ch 3, dc in next st, ch 2, *dc in each next 2 sts, dc, ch 2, dc in next ch 2 space, dc in next 2 sts, ch 2*, repeat *_* until the end of the row (it supposed to finish in 2 dc).

Row 8: ch 3, dc in next st, ch 2, *dc in each next 3 sts, dc, ch 2, dc in next ch 2 space, dc in each next 3 sts, ch 2*; repeat *_* until the end of the row (dc in last 2 sts).

Row 9: ch 3, dc in next st, 7 dc in second ch 2 space ( in the top of that V stitch), dc, ch 1, dc in next ch 2 space (the lower one), *7 dc in next ch 2 space, dc, ch 1, dc in next ch 2 space*; repeat *_* until you reach last ch 2 space, before last 2 dc. Just skip this last chain (don’t work on it) and make dc in each next 2 dc.

I can say is a beginner intermediate-easy pattern? But it’s cute.

For embelishment flowers: I chained 50, slip stitch in the 6th ch from the hook (ring formed).

Turn your work. #Ch 4,  3 tr cluster (3 tr worked together) ch 4, sg in ring# = 1 petal made. Make 3 petals.

And that’s it;)

P.S. If you have any problem, comment or send a message.

Jar cover

As I promised, small projects;) What about a jar cover or jar candle cover? It can be used as a glass cover or mug as well.

Let me show you:

jar cover black jar cover day light glass+black jar candle cover jar candle cover 2 jar cover 3

It fits to 350-450 g jars and a normal water glass or an x-long one.  height 10 cm (4 inches) for the cover and the stitch is stretch, if you don’t work too tight, so check your tension:) ( I mean check with your jar or glass):

I used a 3 mm hook and crochet thread Num 6, says on label:D

Chain 8, form a ring:

ch 8 form a ring

Round 1: ch3 (count as a dc), 15 dc in ring, join in 3rd ch from the beginning ch 3. (16 dc)

ch 3 15 dc in ring

Round 2: ch 4 (1 dc +ch 1), *dc in next st, ch 1*, repeat 14 more times (16 dc, ch 1 groups); join with sl st in 3rd ch from the beginning ch 3.

round 2 ch 4, dc in next st, ch 1, repeat 15 more timesround 2 join

Round 3: ch 4 (1d+ch 1), dc in next ch 1 space, dc, ch 1, dc in next ch1 space- it’s the V-stitch- and the ch 1 space means the hole formed between those 2 dc from Round 2. Anyway, dc, ch1, dc in each ch 1 space around. Join. (16 V-stitches).

round 3

Round 4: ch 3 (count as dc), *3 dc , ch 3, 3 dc in next V-stitch (in the ch 1 space), dc in next V-stitch,* repeat around and join: you will have an 8 petals flower (which can be used as a potholder):

Round 5: ch 3, 3 dc, ch3, 3 dc in next ch 3 space, *dc in next dc, 3 dc, ch 3, 3dc in next ch 3 space*, repeat *_* around.

*Rounds 6 – 16 repeat Round 4.

Finishing: Round 17: ch 1, sc in same st, sc in each next 3 sts, 2 sc together, and repeat around. If you work very tight, you don’t need to decrease.

I hope that I didn’t miss anything. If you have any problem, just let me know…

Now, I finally finished  my yoke dress. (Finally, because I started it last year…)

It is full handmade:

And I will make an assorted purse for it:D And this is for myself.

Lace crocheted dress

Sales gone, it’s time for something new, for summer>

lace crocheted dress

It’s a dress in pink and green, made with crochet thread (Alize) and a 1.5 mm steel crochet hook. It is a retro style I think, but fits great.

Now more pictures and the stitches I used. The upper part is made joining vertical bands (stripes) of motives.

Pictures first, than some patterns or stitches I used.

upper det dress 011 dress 018 dress 041 dress 045

For the upper part I used some circles in a square, you can choose any granny squares, with flowers maybe, from http://www.idainteriorlifestyle.com/2011/07/crochet-tutorial-sunburst-in-square.html or maybe pinterest

or google search…

or the granny from the shrug maybe:

I added an extra round of dc, ch 2.

For the flower stripes :

and for the back and front joining: (the orange stitch) R1: ch 3, sc in 4th  st, repeat; R2: 3dc in next ch 3 space, ch 1, and repeat.

And the skirt. First join the top of  the dress (upper side). Then work in rounds: First round: chain 3, sc in 3rd st.

For first stitch I didn’t find any image, and it’s pretty easy: 5 dc, ch 2 and reapeat all around. (I made 10 rounds.)

The second one: (the 3rd one from the picture) (I made 8 rounds)

For the next stitch, let’s see if I find something:

I didn’t, obvious: it’s 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in same st, ch 1, reapeat all around ( to increase ch 2, if you need).

I wanted to use this one,  I don’t remember why I didn’t…

Another crocheted rug:) revised

Same color, or almost, but different pattern, my own again. This time I started with a 8 petals flower in the middle:

rug 2 0 rug 2 det rug 2 et 1 rug 2

So, which one looks better?:D

It is almost same size, 80 cm diameter (33 inches).

I used 2 strands 50% cotton, 50% acrylic yarn and a 9 mm hook ( which is M, I think, I will check or you can check on google…)

Anyway, you can use any yarn and any hook you have, the result will be a different size  rug:D

My notes:

1. work on a plane surface, to be sure it stays flat. If you work too tight, add a chain or two to a group, to keep your work flat, or use a bigger size hook for the rounds with chains. I already added at revision some chains here and there and tripled check, so you can work as tight as you want to:)

Now, I will use some hash tags, just to avoid spam in my inbox:D

Crocheted rug

notes

These are my notes, to the one who knows what she said… and will be available in few hours.

I finally made one! With my own pattern, that I will list it in few hours. I have to make it nice, with pictures:D

YES, finished the pattern in US terms, with enough pictures I think, for all

https://www.etsy.com/listing/185214554/pdf-pattern-crocheted-rug-instant

and taddam:

crochet rug 00 crochet rug det big crochet rug det crochet rug

What do you think? It is 83 cm diameter, which means 33 inches? Or something like this. I have to convert it. But I am very proud of it.

And the shrug is almost done. I have to join sleeves and cut tails 😦 Tomorrow, I think:)

So, I used my own pattern, and I wrote it this time, now I have to put it in a word document with pictures, maybe a photo tutorial in 2 colors for the middle part, and make it pdf, hm, see you in 5-6 hours:)) At least.

Made it:) #pattern here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/185214554/pdf-pattern-crocheted-rug-instant?ref=shop_home_active_11

OK, made it in UK terms too.

Good night! Sleep well!

Macrame bracelets and some UFO (crochet) things

I learned something  new this weekend! How to make #friendship bracelets.

And these are the results: (the pink one is the very first…)

2014-01-19 19.54.13-2 2014-01-19 19.54.13-8 2014-01-19 19.54.13-10 2014-01-19 19.54.13-12 2014-01-19 19.54.13-19 2014-01-19 19.54.13-23 2014-01-19 19.54.13-25 2014-01-19 20.02.02-2

I used the post I re-blogged to learn knots, and a pinterest file:

knots

The right page is for the stripe bracelet.

For the hearts bracelet, I used a tutorial from here: http://lamanufacture.wordpress.com/2011/06/21/spread-the-love-heart-pattern-friendship-bracelets/. Now I see she has a video tutorial too:)).

For the #micro-macrame bracelet with beads I used a tutorial, you can find it here:

http://www.kreativvagyok.hu/karkotok/hullamos-makrame-karkoto-keszitese/, for advanced, you can use bead4perfectionists video tutorial on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOdZ02e43f0.

Or for beginners one, on more strings, I used only 5. Here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hyjyEFpMLU.

Now my UFO things, I mean unfinished objects :D, what did you think??

I finished the back for my shrug:

2014-01-19 21.01.33-1

I made a sleeve for my pullover, one more to go:) and some granny square and a square something, I didn’t decided yet , a pillow case or a blanket, maybe?

2014-01-19 20.30.26-1 2014-01-19 20.30.26-2 2014-01-19 20.30.26-4 2014-01-19 20.30.26-7

And I have big plans for this week: to finally finish my sweater, and the shrug, and at least a dozen of bracelets… and… some beaded stuff…

Beads Beads Beads

I had fun beading these days, and I love the result: 2 bracelets, a ring and earrings in sunny, bright colors:

First bracelet, in red bicones ( a bright red, more to orange) and golden seed beads:

bracelet 1

sunny bracelet

(this is a RAW bracelet)

and a second bracelet in red and white and golden seed beads, and same bicones:

rosette bracelet

I tried to make this pattern at first: http://centperles.canalblog.com/archives/2009/11/20/15865987.html , called Filae and supposed to look like little stars, but they were too tiny with my beads, so I just improvised. In corners I used herringbone stitch. I like more this one. But I still want to try their pattern too.

And a big flower ring:

ring

Something like this pattern: http://beadsmagic.com/?p=234#more-234, but I didn’t use a cabochon or more pearls, and I started on 20 seed beads. Looks great with a cabochon too… Maybe I will try it someday. But now I am in a mood of crochet. So I will start a lace bolero or shrug with a 3 mm crochet hook and black crochet thread. With grannies, I really miss grannies.

Happy Holidays!
