Easy and fast crochet hat with written instructions now

And this is my result;), purple shining with black. I think a worst weight yarn will look better:)

I found this on Internet without a link, so I use it. I am pretty sure we aren’t allowed to use her face, so I covered it! I think we can do it until tonight! Have fun! (Use a H crochet hook, at least, or 6.5 which is… I don’t remember right now, and a skein of yarn I think, or less, of worst weight yarn).

Ok, let’ write the pattern, in my interpretation because the chart is  a little bit hard to read.

I will use a 5 mm (H) crochet hook and Red Heart Margareta 2 strands now ( you can use a worst weight yarn or a sport yarn, but this is what I have:D). If you want a larger hat you can use a 6-6.5 mm hook (J), or work loosely.

Abbreviations

ch = chain

st = stitch

sl st = slip stitch

sc = single crochet

hdc = half double crochet

dc = double crochet

tr = treble

2dc tog = yarn over, insert hook in next st, yarn over, draw yarn through the stitch, yarn over, draw through 2 loops on hook (2 loops left on the hook), yarn over, insert hook in next st, yarn over, draw yarn through the stitch, yarn over, draw through 2 loops on hook ( 3 loops on the hook), yarn over, draw yarn through all 3 loops on the hook

Work continuous rounds, don’t turn ( reverse) your work.

Chain 4, join with sl st in the first chain.

R1 : chain 1, 7 sc in circle, join with sl st in the first ch 1.

R2:  ch 3 2dc tog in the same st, ch 3,* cluster (3 dc worked together) in the next sc,  ch 3*.  Repeat *_* 6 more times .(8 clusters or dc groups), join with sl st in the 3rd chain from the beginning ch 3.

R3: ch 5, *dc in the previous round ch 3, ch 2, dc in the cluster*. Repeat *_* 7 more times ( 16 dc), join with sl st in the 3rd ch from the beginning ch 5.

R4: *ch 5, sc in the next dc from the previous round*. Repeat *_* 15 more times (16 ch 5), join with sl st in the first ch from the beginning ch5.

R9: ch 3, *dc in the next st*, repeat *_*  7 more  times, 2 dc in the next dc, <*dc in the next st* , repeat *_* 8 times (9 dc), 2 dc in the next st>, repeat all around, join with sl st in the 3rd ch from the beginning ch 3 (that means work a dc in each st around, increasing at every 10th st).

Round 10: ch 3, *1 dc in the next st*, repeat *_* 18 times, 2 dc in the next st, *1 dc in each of the next 19 dc, 2 dc in the next dc*. Repeat *_* all around, join with sl st with the 3rd st from the beginning ch 3. (increasing at every 20th st)

From here I didn’t respect the diagram, I wanted a more slouchy hat:)

Round 11: ch 3, dc in the next st, ch 1, *dc in the second st (skip 1 dc from the previous round), dc in next st, ch 1*, repeat *_* all around, join with sl st in the 3rd ch of the beginning ch 3.

Round 12&13: 1 dc in each st

Round 14: ch3, dc in the next st, ch1 *dc in the second st (skip 1 dc from the previous round), dc in the next st, ch 1*; repeat *_* all around, join with sl st in the 3rd ch from the beginning ch 3.

For a more slouchy hat repeat last 3 rounds:D (round 12 + round 13+ round 14)

Round 15 (18) : 1dc in each st

Round 16 (19) : ch 3, dc in the next st, ch 1, skip 1 dc from the previous round, yarn over, insert hook in next st, yarn over, draw yarn through the stitch, yarn over, draw through 2 loops on hook (2 loops left on the hook), yarn over, insert hook in next st, yarn over, draw yarn through the stitch, yarn over, draw through 2 loops on hook ( 3 loops on the hook), yarn over, draw yarn through all 3 loops on the hook (2 dc tog), ch 1, *skip 1 dc from the previous round, dc in the next st, dc in the next st, ch 1, skip 1 dc from the previous round, 2 dc tog, ch 1*. Repeat *_* all around, join with sl st in the 3rd ch from the beginning ch 3.

Round 17 (20): ch 3, 1 dc in each next 6 st, 2 dc tog, *1 dc in next 7 st, 2 dc tog*; repeat *_* all around, join with sl st in the 3rd ch from the beginning ch 3.

Round 18 (21): ch 3, 1 dc in next st, 2 dc tog, *1 dc in each next 2 st, 2 dc tog*; repeat *_* all around, join with sl st in the 3rd ch from the beginning ch 3.

Round 19 (22) If it-s still too large, repeat round 19, depends on your measures.

Round 20: ch 1, *skip the next st from the previous round, 1 sg in the next st, ch 1*; repeat all around

Round 21-25 repeat round 20, cast off and cut the yarn! And voila your slouchy hat!
